Frequently Asked Questions — Conductivity Level Controls
What is a conductivity level control and how does it work?
A conductivity level control detects the presence or absence of conductive liquid by measuring electrical conductivity between probe rods and a grounded tank or reference rod. When liquid bridges the gap, the circuit closes and the relay switches — turning pumps, valves, or alarms on or off.
What mounting styles are available for Lumenite® conductivity level controls?
Lumenite® offers four mounting styles: Octal Socket Mount (Paneleveline™), Din-Rail Mount, 3" Snap Track Mount, and Stand-Alone Customizable (Industrialeveline™) — each available in 1, 2, or 3 relay configurations.
What voltages do Lumenite® conductivity level controls support?
Lumenite® level controls are available in 12VDC, 24VDC, 110VAC, and 220VAC to match virtually any panel or control system.
Are Lumenite® conductivity controls suitable for food and dairy applications?
Yes. Lumenite® conductivity level controls are used extensively in food, dairy, pharmaceutical, and beverage industries. Sanitary probe assemblies (Sanitrodes™) with teflon-insulated 304 S.S. rods are available in tri-clamp and bevel-seat connections.
Can one level control handle both filling and emptying operations?
Yes. The 401 model (two-relay) supports one filling/emptying operation with one on/off switch, and the 601 model (three-relay) supports filling/emptying with two additional on/off points — all in one compact unit.
